Happy Hosta-1This painting is named HAPPY HOSTAS. Done with acrylic on board it’s a plant from my garden.
Had a great week on Harrison Knob with five other artists. Painted day and night and was able to complete five paintings of my own.  A lot of different methods and materials were used as the work created reflected each artists’ individuality and interests.  The residency culminated with the exhibit RAW (Really Artistic Women) which currently hangs at the Center for Rural Development in Somerset, KY.  When you are in Somerset, drop by the Center and view the work.  It will hang through the middle of November.

Worked with two young artist from the Pulaski county area. One was interested in portraits, not my strongest area, the other was already using contour lines which I love to use. What a great experience. The work is on display at the Center in Somerset, KY and will travel to Western Kentucky University in August.

This site is ready to go live. It’s been a long time coming and I am excited. Excited to have my art visible beyond the farm, Faubush, and Kentucky. I am also excited to have you see my work and share your comments. Cheers!

A brother-in-law shared buckets of buttons from his mother’s fabric store.  I am not into sewing and was challenged to use the material in my art.

I discovered it takes a lot of buttons to color an area and while I will continue to push myself to add new materials to my art work, I will not rely solely on buttons. (This painting is in the Smaller Works gallery.)

Kentucky as a state really supports the arts. This Center was built for meetings  and to showcase Regional artists. This show was A FAMILY AFFAIR and feature my work and that of my children.

The Studio

Welcome to my studio. The Paintings in the background are available on my site in the large works gallery.
To be perfectly honest, my studio rarely looks THIS clean but it’s a great place to work !
